Bad-Ass Women Artists of the Middle Ages and Renaissance

Bad-Ass: Tough, intimidating, or uncompromising. For years I've been interested in art and artists pre-1600. A few years ago, when researching the history of pastels, I had a bit of a revelation...I realized that my research subjects pre-1600 were all men! It gave me pause...Where are the female artists? Why were women never mentioned in the art history books? Those questions were the catalyst for my study of the last two years, which as lead me to share my thoughts via this blog.
